Divine Institutions
1.
Definition of a Divine Institution: A principle of divine operation directed
toward the human race for its orderly direction and preservation.
2.
God set up the four Divine Institutions (Volition, marriage, family,
nationalism).
a)
Volition: The right to be dependent upon God, or to act independently of Him.
The individual has the right, the authority to make certain decisions and to be
responsible for those decisions. The human race uses DI #1 to get into DI #2.
Genesis 2 & 3. (Animals named, choice in the Garden)
b)
Marriage: Basic organisation in a national entity. Genesis 2:18-25. The husband
is the authority, is to be the head of his home. Marriage is for believers and
unbelievers. If the biblical doctrine of marriage is violated on a widespread
scale a nation can be destroyed.
c)
Family: The institution set up to raise and train children as far as respect
for authority, for the rights of others, for the privacy of others, to respect
common law, to respect the property of others, plus many other principles.
Genesis 4,5,6,7,8,9,10. The parents have the authority in this institution.
d)
Nationalism: Genesis 10-11. Nationalism is the means of protecting and
preserving the human race, so that no segment of individuals gets enough power
to destroy the rest of the human race, and eventually themselves.
i.
Nationalism is an human barrier against the supremacy of evil in the world
controlled by Satan, and protects from the power lust of the old sin nature.
ii.
The purpose of nationalism is to provide protection so that INDIVIDUAL VOLITION
can operate under MAXIMUM FREEDOM and liberty.
iii.
Internationalism is anti-biblical. Like the United nations, communism, any
religious or political group that is international in scope.
iv.
The authority is vested in governmental leaders. Romans 13:1-7; 1 Timothy 2.
3.
God set up the four Divine Institutions:
For
the entire human race (not for believers only)
For
the preservation of the human race
So
that the angelic conflict can run its course.
So
that the human race is free to accept Jesus Christ or reject Him.
4. A DI is different from a Christian
institution (local church, believers only).
Divine Institutions
A
divine institution is a principle of divine operation directed toward the human
race for its orderly direction and preservation. God set up four divine
institutions: Volition, Marriage, Family, Nationalism.
Volition:
The right to be dependent upon God,
or to act independently of Him. The individual has the right, the authority to
make certain decisions and to be responsible for those decisions.
Marriage:
This is the basic organisation in a
nation — Genesis 2:18-25. The husband is the authority and is to be the head of
the home. Marriage is for believers, and it is for unbelievers. If the biblical
doctrine of marriage is violated on a large scale the nation is destroyed.
Family:
The institution set up to raise and
train children as far as respect for authority, for the rights of others, for
the privacy of others, to respect common law, to respect the property of
others, plus many other principles — Genesis 4,5,6,7,8,9,10. The parents have
the authority in this institution.
Nationalism:
Genesis 10-11. Nationalism is the
means of protecting and preserving the human race, so that no segment of
individuals gets enough power to destroy the rest of the human race, and
eventually themselves.
Nationalism is an human barrier against the supremacy of evil in
the world controlled by Satan, and protects from the power lust of the old sin
nature. The purpose of nationalism is to provide protection so that individual
volition can operate under maximum freedom and liberty. Internationalism is
anti-Biblical. For example, the United Nations, communism, any religious or
political group that is international in scope. The authority is vested in the
government leaders — Romans 13:1-7; 1 Timothy 2.
God set up the four divine
institutions for the entire human race (not for believers only) for the
preservation of the human race, so that the angelic conflict is free to run its
course, and so that the human race is free to accept Jesus Christ or reject
Him. Note that a divine institution is different from a Christian institution
which has to do with believers in a local church only.
Internationalism
A
major passage on internationalism in Genesis chapter 11 which covers the Tower
of Babel episode where God’s attitude toward internationalism is recorded.
Internationalism
is the governing of more than one nation under one head. Believers are told to
be faithful to their own national entities in Romans 13:1-7. No form of
internationalism is acceptable to God, and this includes political
internationalism such as communism, socialism, and religious internationalism
such as certain oriental religions, the Roman Catholic Church, the World
Council of Churches. The United Nations is a form of political
internationalism.
Christianity
is one hundred per cent opposed to any form of internationalism. It is a
vicious attack upon divine institution number four, nationalism, and it also
destroys divine institution number one, freedom. The Tower of Babel was a
combination of political and religious internationalism. It is always a Satanic
device to try to frustrate the plan of God by breaking down, infiltrating, and
opposing the plan of God.
Whenever
Satan starts a religious organisation to counteract the doctrines of the Word
of God a demon organisation is always involved. When he finds the need to
establish a new religion somewhere, that religion is compatible with the
culture of that area (like Mormonism). Some of these religions are
internationalist in character and some are local. Mormonism began as a
localised religion and since has become international, as have others, such as
the so-called Jehovah’s Witenesses. During the Church Age religious
internationalism will be active, but it will never be as strong as in the
Tribulation when it will reach its peak.
Internationalism
results in a maximum destruction of human life on the earth, a minimum use of
free will or freedom, maximum negative volition toward God, and a minimum
amount of evangelism.
Besides
Genesis chapter 11, a study of Romans 12:9,10; 2 Thesslonians 2:9,10; Isaiah
14:14-19; Revelation 20:8; 12:9,10 will provide a further concept of Satan’s
internationalism policy. Satan is said to be the god of this world in 2
Corinthians 4:3,4; he is the father of religion. He is the prince of this world
— John 12:31; 14:30; and the prince of the power of the air in Ephesians 2:2.
He is the ruler of this present world system — Job 1:7; 2:2 “ … walking up and
down … going to and fro” is an idiom for rulership in the Hebrew.
The seven points of
internationalism: Genesis 11:1-4
1.
Idealistic rebellion vs. God: He told them to spread out after the flood, but
they built up because they did not believe in the Lord’s admonition — Genesis
9:1,7.
2.
Volitional rebellion vs. God: Man was to scatter. A decadent nation tends to
mass in cities — one of the characteristics of the fourth cycle of discipline —
Leviticus 26:25.
3.
Governmental rebellion vs. God: They built a city. They should have continued
the agricultural economy which afforded the privacy needed to raise a family.
4.
Physical revolt vs. God: Their reaction to the flood of past history was to
build a tower above the high-water mark of the flood. Also man thought the arm
of the flesh was strong enough to save.
5.
Spiritual revolt vs. God: The tower was to reach heaven. They felt that
international brotherhood was the answer, and that man’s work would get him to
heaven.
6.
Personal revolt: The proud concept that man by man’s abilities can solve man’s
problems. This is not so.
7.
Structural revolt: The philosophy that materialism is the god of man and can
solve the problems of man.
Internationalism
actually abolishes national government, private property, marriage and family
life, and it makes the state responsible for education and needs. Inheritance
is also abolished, as is Bible Christianity and patriotism.
